Things to do NYC this weekend and then some…

Friday 4/16 A photographer, Francis Minien, a friend of Jene’s is part of the International Juried Exhibition at Rouge Space Chelsea, which opens April 16 – 21

526 West 26th Street    9E – 9F  NYC

Saturday 4/17 The LABA Festival at the 14th Street Y  (see yesterday’s blog entry)

Wednesday 4/21 NYC Photo Salon will be presenting a number of photographers’ bodies of work in their monthly slide presentation held at Soho Photo Gallery  15 White Street, NYC

Thanks honey, photographer, Jene Youtt for introducing me to this monthly event.

The fee which covers the use of space at Soho Photo is only $10 and more than well worth the price of admission.  Starting time is 6:30pm

Some of the outstanding photographers that volunteer their time and services at NYC Photo Salon are Jack Reznicki, Jay Maisel, Howard Schatz and Emmanuel Faure.  There are others but I’ve not had the pleasure of chatting with them after the presentations.  The room seems to fill up quickly so being 15 minutes early to get a seat is not unusal at all.

At the very least, I feel inspired when we go there,  humbled that I am in the same room as some of these awe inspiring international photographers.  All of which take time to answer any questions directed at them.  It’s good to see what other photographers are doing,  how they hone their craft and to see where their passions lie.  Maybe some day, I will get to be a guest photographer,  something to strive for.

Hope to see you at all these places.
