Food for thought: If you plan to attend on the preview night, you will get to sample some tasty Saigoniste All Natural Peanut sauce. Wonder if I can pick up a few jars while I’m there. I love the original peanut sauce and 2 more flavors were added to the line: Spicy and Vegan. Saigoniste will be catering the opening reception, so whet your palettes with their sumptuous hors d’oeuvres – home-made dumplings with a sesame, ginger and ponzu dressing, crudites with all natural peanut sauce, homemade summer rolls, vietnamese iced coffees and libations of lychee mimosas. I consider myself lucky because I have nibbled on some tasty treats that Mary Nguyen had prepared for other openings and believe me, the peanut sauce is delicate with a little kick. Great on shrimp, vegetables or thinned with rice vinegar and oil as a salad dressing. Go to the website for a few recipes Saigoniste.

Jene has our Scope tickets already so we are set. There are smaller venues sprouting up around town at the same time but not sure how they will lure people away from the major events. A great way to get rid of the winter blues and perhaps add some color to your walls. Invest in art, you can’t go wrong.
